As a child, I assisted a
veterinarian in my hometown of Troy, New York treat cowsan experience
that awakened my interest in treating disease and caring for the sick. Another
experience that pushed me toward nursing came during my sophomore and junior
year in high school. I was convinced that I could not pass Chemistry, and I was
further deterred because the teacher was known to be tough. Despite my
reluctance, a friend urged me to take the class, which I passed with an "A."
This gave me the self confidence that I could become a nurse.
I have been a practicing
nurses for over 30 years, and the experience has always been challenging yet
rewarding.
